Who likes Suhi, i love it ?!

My favorite one is the one with shrimps, and a lot of WASABI. I love it the taste of WASABI, the moment it opens your brain!

Love raw tuna and salmon too, but a bit worried about the mercury...

 

Love sushi, can't afford to get the stuff that's edible where I live, so it's a vacation treat when I'm on a coast (I'll definitely be eating sushi at least twice when I'm in Hawaii next month). I'm not overly fond of roe (we call them pop rocks, and they always get stuck between my teeth), and can't deal with the texture of unagi (and yes, it is a texture thing, I didn't like it before I found out what it was), but everything else is fair game. Well...except quail eggs...don't do so well with raw egg, either.

 

He's not throwing up. He's having a wasabi rush. You haven't lived until you've had a wasabi rush.

 

love the ginger and eating with chop sticks seems more elegant?

 

I love that scene in Jacka$$ where he snorts the wusabi.... lol.

I'm pretty adventurous with food and love cooked seafood, but I think on this one I'll stick to my curries thanks

When I lived in Japan for two years (stationed in Sasebo), I got hooked on Sushi and Sashimi (same thing, but just the fish). I've also had raw squid, octopus tentacle, and horse (to just name a few).

Now, my favorite thing to do with Wasabi, is spead a large line of Wasabi on your finger, put the wasabi between you gums and your lip, then take a shot of tequila, swirl in your mouth, and swallow. I also use to snort vodka, but that was a different tale.

Here I'm back in the states, and found a japanese grocery store. Anyway, I'm stocked on tentacle, wasabi, tuna, sushi rice, udon noodles....

 

I guess, better that than pushing a needle up your vene

If you are a hot and spicy freak like I am, then no, it is quite mild. Also, if you think tobasco is hot, then this is probably something you don't want to try.

On a side note, I also remember using wasabi as toothpaste as a truth/dare things.

 

So basically???? It's like OD'ing on horseradish and it feels like a roto-rooter going through your sinus????? Does this particular feeling give you a head rush or some kind of buzz or what???? I can't see where it would be "awesome" unless it temporarily alteres you senses in some way!!!!????

Please...explain more, if i'm talking out of my a$$!!! I'm curious!!!!

That much pain gives you an endorphin rush, so yeah...there's sort of a head rush. Wasabi is Japanese horseradish (although the horseradish we know in the US isn't at all the same IMO).

 

lol - my wife swears by the wasabi rush . . . she'll load up on the stuff, turn all red and sweaty, then just gush about how good it is. Gotta love endorphins, I guess.
