Despite frequently scanning with Malwarebytes I got malware on my computer. I downloaded different programs to get rid of the malware and it seems to be gone (except for the fact that my google searches are frequently hijacked). Now my problem is that every time I try to open a program I get a message that says "windows cannot access the specified file..." When I try to open up items in the control panel (like user accounts b/c I thought it might be an administrator issue) I get a message that says "Application not found" I managed to get online by right clicking firefox and selecting "run as" when that came up I uncheck the box underneath current user that says '"protect my computer from viruses...." I tried restarting in safe mode but I can't: every time I select safe mode from the list of options the screen goes black for a moment and then it brings me back to the list of options. I am at my wit's end, any suggestions would be very appreciated.

Forgot two things: I realize that my problems may be due to too many virus removal programs but I can't access the add/remove programs application and also a "Just in time debugging" notice keeps coming up but when I select YES it says it can't find the selected debugger.

I take it you got the computer to eventually start from when you restarted to try to get into safe mode and said you couldnt get it up.. So I was confused.. Anyways sounds like you have a virus and should go through this link here and post in the malware section of forums link-> http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 If your not able to do all the scans try to go through all that you can. And then post a thread in the malware section of what happen when you tried to download/run these. Also having many anti virus programs can cause conflict when all are on and tring to scan your computer.. But IMO this sounds like a virus problem.

    Multiple antispyware programs are OK.
    Multiple antivirus programs are NOT.
