I wanted to do some tweaking in my BIOS but under the advanced section there are practically no settings. I've searched my whole BIOS and I can't find any settings like AGP Aperture size, Fast Writes. I use a laptop with mobility radeon 9700 graphics, and my BIOS is manufactured by American Megatrends. Is there any way I can tweak any of these settings or am I out of luck. My mobo is SiS chipset.

    HI
computers like dell compaq hp and other computers that are pre-built don't have the capability to overclock or get advanced settings in BIOS. Sorry about that. there may be the possiblility that there is an unlock feature in the BIOS. If it doesn't have it you're best possibility is installing another BIOS but i have no idea how to do it. so wait for someone else to tell you how to do that.

I don't have a major brand name laptop. My laptop was manufactured by ibuypower. What could possibly unlock features in my BIOS? Is it a certain key combination or something else? I'm really beginning to think my BIOS is featureless.

There's nothing to enable. There's no magic key combination. If there's nothing there, then there's nothing there. You can't change it. The manufacturer of the system board decides what options are available, and that can vary from everything to hardly anything. The only essentials are date, time, and boot order. Everything else can be set to an automatic setting that you can't change. You will only see complete advanced options on system boards designed for ethusiasts, which for laptops is essentially just Alienware.

For some laptops you can get "hacked" bios flash files which unlock a few extra settings - usually ones used for diagnostics in the factory. You might want to do a google search if you're that despirate :)
