Why Chipset drivers first?

I've always been told/seen, when installing drivers on a new machine, to do chipset drivers first, but never told or seen why... I guess if I understood how everything worked then I'd also understand why it would be important, but is there any sort of short answer to this question?

Certain hardware not being detected will prevent other hardware from being properly detected/installed.

Point in case when in XP the AGP miniport driver is not installed, and hence the AGP port not recognized as such, it will prevent any attempt to install video drivers for your video card.

Most problems comes with Intel chipset,if don't install the drivers rightaway.

Thanks I guess that pretty much answers my question. At least, enough to satisfy the curiosity for now or give me something to research further on my own.
