Why did I buy NIS 2006?

i just bought norton internet security 2006 and I thought it was great. But i had a virus before i installe dit and it did not fix it at all. I followed the post on this forum to remove all malware and it worked pefect.. all with freeware. NIS is awesome for prevention, but for getting rid of spyware and all trojans, the forum's instructions are awesome

 

After you installed NIS 2006 did you download all the virus signatures and program updates using LiveUpdate? However, some viruses disable well known antivirus products and prevent them from working so installing a well known product on a system that is infected may not necesarily work.

In addition to being a Firewall and Anti-virus product it has a number of other features such as parental control and privacy control. Also, note that NIS is not an anti-spyware product.
