Not sure what you are asking - have you actually uninstalled it?

svchost.exe by itself does nothing; get Process Explorer to see what is actually using svchost.

Have seen as many as 5 svchost.exe running at one time.

always be careful with spelling when discussing file names

suchost exe is different to svchost.exe

Agree with Kestrel 13!. If you spelled it correctly then you need to head to the Malware Removal forum. :)

    Hi

Please explain the heading of your post a bit more

    What does this mean?

What is your Windows Version and Service Pack?

OneCare is now an end of life application and most users of this who paid for a licence will have gained at least 3 or 4 emails on this and that it will not be renewed at the end of your current licence period, so you will need to migrate to Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE is free also) which took over from OneCare or another antivirus application.

I was on the perpertual beta test for this app and gained a licence every year which has run out now so yours cannot be far off ending if not already as the end date for OneCare was around September 29th 2009, which is in a weeks time, so you will have to think of a new application soon.

as for CPU and RAM usage, what other security applications do you have installed, please name all?

my son and i were working on a friends computer.i had asked him to post the problem for me , while nsearching google ; which was a mistake this was the problem after uninstalling live on care of a computer
    xp home sp2
i still saw a massive use of ram in the task manager , msmpeng exe. over 64000k. after installing micrsoft security. on boot the cpu spikes to 100%
after re looking the exe up again it is in MSE and is normal
but the suchost is still a worry still spikes at 77000k in ram useage
again am sorry for the use of my son to relay a question .
pwillener mentioned to use process explore . i will try that .

again i won't use my son to type for me

    Hi

No worries at using your son to type, all we need is to get to the cause of the issue and alot of background info maybe needed, but your post above covers much of this.

The suchost.exe is a worry (as its not a legit file name, svchost.exe is mind and can have multiples listed in task manager processes list) and I would be running the below and then start a new thread in our malware forum area and allow our malware experts to see if you have a malware issue.

    yes my thought also
this is what i have run as far as scans so far

    superantispyware ( in safe )
    hitman pro
    tdsskiller
    ccleaner
came up with one infection ( cleaned )
the computer is now on sp3 xp home; the biggest problem is it is out of hdd space only 24 % left and only on 512 of ram. it is not mine ( computer ) and will suggust to him to run the guide from here. again thanks for the reply so fast and will pass what you advised :)
ps: have you ever heard of this computer

    Hi

Do run the guide and post in our malware removal forum as a few of the tools are custom ones that can highlight to a trained eye malware that hides itself as many do these days, especially from the automated definition based scanners.

Everex not off hand, do know of a cargo company with that name but a PC one no, but did search on them and info http://www.everex.com.tw/us/ and judging by the top line text they are now out of business.

Could likely do with an extra 512kb of ram to pep up that PC as XP now seems in SP3 guise to like at least 1GB ram as a min, the 24% of HDD space left is within limits before Windows throws a fit.... but would run some cleanup tools HERE for getting rid of junk files, and uninstalling any apps that are not now needed, then doing a defrag and this app free is good HERE.
