Why Do All Users Have 'shared' Status?

Just a reminder: I inherited this computer.

It had one user on it when I got it. I created three more.

Plus there are a few created by Windows (Default, Public and UpdatusUser), plus one apparently from Hewlett Packard, presumably having to do with the printer (HP_Administrator.YOUR-4DACD0EA75).

Looking at the Properties of all of the user folders off of C:\Users, I just discovered that NetworkFile and Folder Sharing lists them all as "Shared".

Why? How did that happen? Shouldn't I change that for security purposes?

To see if the folders really are shared, click on the Advanced Sharing button. If Share this folder is not checked, then the folder is not shared.

No, it's not checked for any of the folders off of C\Users, but since it's not checked for them, it very probably wasn't checked for all those TEMP folders that were also off of C:\Users that I found (see my thread "Pups Apparently Associated With Unknown Temp Users"), but when I deleted THEM, I got warning messages saying they were ALL shared. I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that I don't understand the apparent discrepancy.
