Why Do I need 500 jpg's??

Hi!! I have a dumb question! Why are all these jpg's on my XP3. Why do I need 500 jpg's. What I really would like to know is how many on these can I delete and still have XP3 running correctly. Why does Bill Gates put all this crap on Windows. Are these all necessary? I would really like to delete a bunch of them, but I don't want to mess up my OS. I tried to Google, but I didn't find any answers.:confused

 

Most are there for a reason, such as being part of the Help for many installs (XP included) and, as shown in your screenshot, templates for digital imaging programs, etc. Best not to mess with the innards.

 

Agreed - most JPGs are image files used by a program. When you run "program X" and you see all the little pictures like of a PC or a smiley face or whatever, these are all liekly JPG files. If removed, not only will "program X" look a bit odd, it may not run at all. Besides, the size of these files is SOOOOO small as to be insignificant, even if you had 5000 or 50000 of 'em... they don't take up any space, they aren't slowing anything down, and they actually serve a purpose in most cases.

 

Hi! Ok guys, You convinced me. I did find some that I had created and thought had been deleted , but for some reason hadn't been, and I got rid of them. I will leave the others alone. Thanks for your reply's.
PS Lot of them are from HP and Windows Tour. I found some under Local MLS. They have some thing to do with Media Player. I got rid of them. I can always get them back. If you use Windows Media Player; you might find a bunch of jpg's you don't need or aren't even there any more. It's wearied.
