Why do MP3s download as MPEGs?

When I try to download an MP3 file, when I click "Save target as . . ." the extension on the filename that it will save as is MPEG video, not MP3. To play it I have to chage the extension to MP3. Then it seems to behave as a real MP3. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

I tried uninstalling about 10 programs that have to do with MP3s, including RealPlayer SP, but this doesn't solve it.

    Thanks for any help!
