why is it?

I am looking for a million(exagerating a little) .dll files
and I have been downloading them from different sites that offer them(for free)

Why do you need these files ? (Maybe re-installing the program that requests these files will solve the problem)

 

I have no means of reinstalling the program
(I dont even know which ones exactly I am just replacing corrupt and missing .dll's)
I am trying to repair a IMB ThinkPad T21

 

Try a sfc /scannow to repair files and/or
Get the latest Mdac, Jet and VB runtimes...
that might help ..

 

Sounds like you are going down a difficult road, which is very likely to lead you into a dead end.

Why not just backup the personal documents (music, pictures, mails, addresses, etc.) and reinstall the operating system ? (Or use the restore CD if such is available)

Btw. what operating system ?

 

JA, try these out. They used to be free but may have changed. Been a long time since I looked.

The MS one is a Micro$oft one so should be available from M$.

Running SFC (System File Checker) with your Micro$oft OS CD loaded may find it missing and ask you to install it from the CD. You must have the OS CD loaded.

I have it as a Micro$oft shared, common program on my W98SE laptop.

JA, you've got me confused. Have you fixed up your *.dll problem? Did you try the sites I listed. Have you run SFC? That MS*.dll should be on all M$ OS CD's? Did you solve your problems on your other posts? Baz

the rom drive does not work. . .
so I am transfering from floppy

 

Archer, have a Idea,,I have a IBM Thinkpad,400 my first laptop,,now daughter uses it,,,, ,,,but maybe I can make boot disks for you on floppys,,it just may contain the files you need , even though is a differant model # same brand and era,,its a P2 266mhz Glenn

can even zip each boot disk info and email to you if not snail mail...

I got into windows using a bootable 98se cd rom,
the biggest problem I am having is with the hot swapping the floppy and the rom drive
I get a not configured message the ultrabay 2000 says "take it out quick" (I am paraphrasing, of course. .lol) whe I put in the rom drive.
I have reinstalled the program many, many times.
the rom is recognized in bios, so the actual hardware is fine. disks will spin in explorer, but that is all. . .

 

maybe a simple answer its not holding the config,,,you may need a system MB board battery !!! my old thinkpad did the same thing !!! as it got older,,when powered down or did a hot swap..lost data,,,just a thought, Glenn
