Why is microsoft not sued over this .

Okay I can see malware where by the user clicks on link or go to web site to open an email or install free game or sofware that may have malware but this new malware warm base on the article seems to go after any computer connected to the internet!!

It seems base on the article the bad actor is scanning the Internet IP addressess for the computer with this exploit and once they have list of all the computers will inject the bad code by the exploit built into Microsoft OS that allows this bad code to enter the computer and run.

    Sorry the article https://www.zdnet.com/article/intense-scanning-activity-detected-for-bluekeep-rdp-flaw/

    Talking about the BlueKeep

To make matters worse no backdoor or malware infection is needed for the bad code to enter the computer and run because the exploit is Microsoft service running in the background.

And turning off Microsoft service Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) still allows the exploit to enter the computer and run with system admin rights.

"This vulnerability impacts the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) service included in older versions of the Windows OS, such as XP, 7, Server 2003, and Server 2008."

@nec209......Dont lose any sleep over this, exploiting any kind of remote code vulnerability is very, very difficult and time consuming to say the least.
Its not as easy as signing into Facebook or anything like you see in the movies, plus its already been patched.
The Cyber-Sec industry moves quicker than you can blink.......what was a threat yesterday, is irrelevant today.

If we were to sue every software developer and Web app designer for weaknesses in their written code, we would have nothing.....No Snap-Chat, no Twitter, no FaceTime, no Instagram, no Banking apps, no gaming web servers, nothing, and you would be left with walking the dog down at the local park for entertainment.

Remember that when it comes to any software, there are literally thousands upon hundreds of thousands of lines of code that go in to make it, and in there somewhere (in every application) there is a weakness that can be exploited if you have the time and the skill and knowledge to find it.
Some are easier than others, but mostly its like trying to find a needle in a haystack!

The key here is not that its vulnerable, but how quickly any threat can be mitigated.

    Regards ;)

P.S I'm on Win10 anyway, only Eldon has to worry :p

Unless you remotely connect to your OS no need to worry about this.Just disable remote connection through services in windows 7.

    And don't trust Zdnet.

    Well I do have firewall.

My worried was hackers using scanning probes and scanning hundreds of computers every day looking for this vulnerable than making list of millions of known computers with these vulnerable and than when they have rally big list than inject the exploit code to run. So it seems hackers are just making big list now of millions of computers and getting waiting to start injecting code soon.

But in theory a firewall should stop this.
