Why is this Drop-down Box "Empty" (Blank)?

As usual, I am sure there is a simple answer or "fix" for this, and my Title/Subject above really asks it all:

Why is this Drop-down Box "Empty" (Blank), please? (screenshot attached) -- better yet - how might I "fix" it please?

Sorry, just now seeing your reply here ... thanks, but no, that's not it...it's always blank/empty...seems like ever since I got this machine 3 years ago.

Likely a setting that I set for "Security" ... somewhere, such as the 'Hide certain files/sytem-operating files' in an advanced tab such and such place back in the holler over yonder ... something to that effect, but I just haven't figured it out (in THREE YEARS!!!)-o:-o:-orolleyes:cry
