    Evening all,

After a bit of help, i'm writing an essay to do with Data Rates and Throughput, now i understand that in things like 54Mbps WiFi the Throughput is approx 30Mbps but i want to know why? What happens to the other 24Mbps? What causes it to be as low as it is?

Any Info would be really usfull

    Thanks

Well in a 54g wireless connection, thats a perfect conditions data rate, very likely your late of reaching that is because of a lack of perfect conditions, ie wireless noise/distance. Heres a wiki link that might help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11
