Why must they bring me norton problems?

I'm sure the answer is no, but does anyone know how to get rid of the error status on e-mail scanning without reinstalling? It's norton AV 2002, it's enabled but it shows error status, I'm trying to run Panda active scan to see if there is a virus causing it, I ran housecall and it came up blank. So I'm not sure if it was caused by a virus or not.

It's for NAV 2003 but you might try some of the fixes, especially Disable and re-enable Auto-Protect.
