    Hi

InCD is part of Roxio and if you have that installed then either uninstall it or re-install to try and fix the issue.

What Windows version you using and service pack?

Have you tried this in deleting upper and lower filters?

In device manager do you have any yellow ! marks if so what?

If you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) does the CD drive work?

    Start by running checkdisk

First empty your recycle bin , clear the internet explorer cache, search and delete all .tmp files.

    This will speed repair up.

open mycomputer and right click on the hard drive

    choose properties>toolstab>checknow

tick both boxes for fix files and fix sectors.

A dialog box will appear saying it can't check now, do you want to check on next restart

    click yes

    restart

If you cant get past the welcome screen....then you have some corrupt system files. I suggest you try doing this:

well when it does come up by some sort of miracle it takes a long time to open up a single program it takes a full half hour just to open the darn thing and when i am ready to do something it freezes up making me shut it down and have to wait the entire day just to try to boot it up again

i guess its safe to say that i screwed up the boot up (pun)
