Widows/RealPlayer compatibility update questions

Greetings to everyone!
Not sure if I'm posting in right area, but hoping! :-o

I'm using a older rental PC running Windows 7 - or it may have updated to 8, if that's possible? :confused
Anyway, am very confused as Real Player says I need this particular update for me to download & play vids, 'Adobe Flash 9, Active X10'...or similar...been searching for hours! :cry
Al I can find in a search is: ADVANCED x64Components for Windows 7 and 8 (formerly x64 Components) 4.2.1 Is this what I need? I've never had a problem with RealPlayer before, but now it won't playback most vids I try to download & am running newest version of 16 {freeware}...Plz, can anyone help?! :banghead

Or can anyone suggest a similar good player with the download feature like the RealPlayer? Many thanks in advance!

 

It would be helpful if you posted a screenshot of the message you are seeing; your vague citation of the message does not make much sense.

Anyway, what is your installed Flash Player version?
