    Hi Guys,

I was just curious, I am new to wifi, and I just got my new Asus K53E laptop which has the latest WiFi, and my wife & I both got new Samsung Galaxy S III handsets this week, and I was curious as to whether its possible to setup wifi to send files to one another?

I currently have ADSL2+ with a BoB2 modem, using the wifi in the modem to connect and share our broadband connection, but thats where my knowledge ends, I have no clue how to setup a wifi connection on my laptop to send/recieve files, and not sure if its even possible? I have tried reading up on it but its very very daunting and confusing, so I was curious to know if anyone had a plain jane simple guide on how to set it up to do it, if it is even possible at all?

My laptop is using Windows 7 Home Professional, and our mobiles are using Android 4.0.4 ICS, if that makes any diffirence. and I am connected to the internet via my broadband modems wifi, via PC, and Mobile Phones...

    Kind Regards,

    David

    Hi EXOX3.

What are you intending to do when you say "sending files"?

All wifi does is eliminate the wires in your connecting to the internet.
Do you want to share files between comps at your house?
Do you want to be able to access your home files from outside your house?
A little more information would be helpful.

    Hi lbmest,

sorry, I got a little carried away with my question and forgot the obvious, lol, sincere apologies.

With regards to WiFi, and sending files, I mean like a network, to send and recieve files from my laptops wifi to say my samsung galaxy S III, or vice versa, like sharing a folder to upload and download files to or directly send files from my laptop to my phone using wifi, instead of having to use bluetooth, or the phones USB cable, etc

    Kindest Regards,

    David Giles

I would suggest using something like Dropbox to do so, since it's very easy. You just upload the files to Dropbox, and they will accessible to all devices if they have Dropbox installed on them.
