Wifi instant messaging device

Hey guys. How is everyone doing?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a device that is wifi enabled and can send messages along facebook, aim, skype, and that kind of stuff. I don't want an ipod touch. I kind of already have one...Iphone 3g...I don't like the touchscreen keyboard. I looked at the zippit and sony ones but heres the issue with both of them. The zippit one doesn't have free instant messaging. The sony Mylo 2 is about 380 bucks...way too expensive for me. i was looking at cell phones but i wasn't all too sure about wether they have the ability to instant message over a WIFI connection.

if anyone has any insight on this i would be very pleased to find them.

By the way, I did look for about 2 hours for a device like this, but found none.

Hi

Yeah the dedicated ones like the Sony MYLO are expensive, and I cannot think of any others off hand, the Microsoft Kin One and Kin Two where retired/removed just after release and would have done exactly what you wanted.

I would have a look at some of the HTC phones like the Desire etc as they can work on 3g or Wifi, (I have a HTC HD2 and when I'm close to a WiFi network I jump to use wifi over 3G) while they are touch screens the HTC phones have a vibrating feedback when you hit the keys so much better than the numb feeling from the iPhone (not dissing the iPhone as I have one).

On my HTC HD2 (tend to be expensive though) I can use Windows Live Messenger via 3G or Wifi, depends on the connection I have chosen, also surf the net and send email via both options too. So look for one of the android based HTC phones.

So have a look in your local phone store and test a few out.
