    hey,

I have a Fujitsu Siemens amilo laptop running Ubuntu and widnows 7...

The wifi sometimes works, the wifi sometimes doesnt work.

I have tried disabling network adapter, uninstall and restarting, didnt work..
When its not working it still shows up in device manager with no problems..

you could try it 2 hours later and it works no bother for days on end..

    anyone have this problem before?
recon it could be faulty or loose adapter?
    doubt its drivers..

    Cheers for any help!!:)

    Hi

Cannot help you with the Linux version as I dont have Ubuntu installed at present, but in Windows open up in Device Manager your WiFi Adapter and right click > Properties and choose the Power Management tab and untick the box that may say "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" and click apply, reboot and see how you get on.

What router make and model do you have?
Could try this and disable AutoTuning to do so you will need to open an elevated CMD prompt and click Start and type CMD into the start search box then right click CMD and choose Run as Administrator, then type this command in

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

    hit enter and reboot.

    Hi

Yeah bit of a weird one, in Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks by any devices? if so what.

Also as a test, disable your security software, plus what security apps do you have installed?

no, all the drivers are intalled correctly, ive uninstalled them several times.

runing eset nod32 on it.. tried disabling it but made no diffence.. its not the laptop overheating either .:confused

I did a system restore to yesterday when it was working and it came back so it must be software.

i know this will happen again though
