so i have a laptop which works OK but no wifi access after ISP did upgrade (prior thread). also, lotta video sputters, and cannot handle HEVC/x265/360deg.

and i have newer laptop with lightning fast wifi (like 15x what i was used to!) and gorgeous, vibrant, video...which handles pretty much everything i throw at it. alas, but the AUDIO crapped out on me (fried soundcard? various threads) 2 weeks in! so bad that i simply cannot watch anything with sound on anymore.

at present i am watching things muted, reading subtitles. far from ideal.

cannot watch anything lacking subs, let alone listen to mp3s etc.

plan B is to take files i wish to watch/listen to, move them back to the OLD pc, and watch them there. royal pain, but what choice do i have?

is there some third, out-of-the-box, option i'm missing? like staying on my good pc with its good video but projecting the audio (only) to my old one somehow?

cannot believe i've been reduced to this in week 3 of what is otherwise a GREAT pc. (was FREE, btw, so there is no "get it fixed" option unless i start paying)

i use wifi way too much to go back to the old PC fulltime, but i am seriously considering it.
