    Will a 638 pin S1g4 CPU work in a S1 socket.Being its 35 watts and old CPU was 25 watts?
    Presario F500
    Processor : Mobile AMD Sempron 3500+ @ 1800 MHz Socket S1 25w
    Mainboard : Quanta 30D3
    Chipset : nVidia GeForce Go 6100
    Physical Memory : 1024 MB DDR2-SDRAM

    Want to upgrade CPU to
    AMD Phenom II N660 3 GHz Dual-Core HMN660DCR23GM Socket S1(S1g4) 35w

    Add 1gb to give max of 2GB ram

    Regardless of the socket design, it depends on the BIOS and the unicode programmed therein.

    Even if the motherboard will support the CPU, there is no guarantee that the BIOS will.
