Will A Saved On Usb Downloader Type File Still Work?

HI, recently my 8.1 hard drive crashed. wE were able to get all the downloads folder on a USB. I don't trust AI to answer correctly. New libreoffice won't work on windows 8.1. I want to keep 8.1 for now. I had to get LO 4 from Oldversion.com but then I realized that I had the LibreOffice 6 downloader on my USB drive.will it download that app if I move it to the new harddrive & double click it or not? I'm sorry if it's dumb question. I don't want to screw up libreoffice so bad that it won't work anymore. I saw all the versions on Softonic but I dont'want to get it there because apparently there are malware infested ads everywhere on that site. libreoffice4 was teh most recent one oldversion had.
