Will any XP Home disc work?

Looking at a laptop I believe can use the "sfc /scannow" ran since after a disk check it had three instances where data was relocated from sectors.

I do not have the original installation disc for XP Home however I do have another disc, will this disc be fine for the laptop having XP Home installed?

Also, notice was given WMI was stopped on the laptop, hence another reason to consider running "sfc /scannow", is this the right direction I should be looking?

Edit: I have a short list of items shown in disc check as being relocated, file names and sector values, if the information is needed.

 

It may work if it is the right service pack. If not, you may have to slipstream in the SP to match what your running.
Now the bad news, it will not work for a reinstall because the license keys work with specific versions.. VLKs with VLK disks, retail with retail disks, & OEMs with OEM disks.
If the OS is the original that came installed on the laptop your most likely going to need an OEM - look on the bottom, or hidden under the battery for the "Windows XP Home -OEM" sticker with the key. It will say OEM on it, if it is OEM.

 

There is a sticker on the bottom, also shows "HP" on the same sticker but no mention of "OEM".
My disc has a sticker also, specifically states "OEM" on the sticker for the installation disc.

What disc type is better than another?
I have never slipstreamed, always wanted to try it.
