Will I Have Trouble Reinstalling XP?

I recently did a reinstall of XP(2 weeks). I ordered a new mobo\vhip\mem combo that will be here next week. I would just swap boards and reconnect everything without a reinstall but somehow my computer is infested with spyware crap so I want to do a total reinstall/

Will MS give me trouble over this? I sure as he-double hockey sticks better not!

Microsoft monitors the hardware changes on your system. If there are a certain amount of changes in a certain amount of time, then they will block your install. The rules are on their website somewhere and I'm too lazy to look them up now, but let me know if you need a link and I'll dig it up. If they detect too many harwdare changes, they will give you a call number - call them up and tell the representative what you're doing and they will give you an authentication code of some sort.

 

It is been more than 120 days since you last activated XP, you will be ok. MS deletes their database every 120 days.

I'll be dammed... I remember when M$ came out with the whole product activation thing and they posted information on their website about the whole 120 days thing. I can't find a trace of it anywhere after an hour search.
