Hi got another question about sony cam-corder

When copying from cam-corder to computer, via usb the picture is not the same quality that you get recording to a video. Will my recording improve if I use firewire or a pci card.
I am a complete novice. There is a humongous difference between what’s recorded on the cam-corder and what I get downloading to the computer. I am using windows movie maker

What resolution is your camcorder and what resolution are you viewing at on your pc?

Chances are there will be no difference in quality, firewire is just faster than usb, don't know how pci connections compare with it though.
