    Hello to all,

This is probably a siple question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I have an athlon xp 2600 barton and wanted to upgrade to a mobo with a pci-e slot (for a geforce 6600). There don't seem to be any socket A boards with pci-e slots; only socket 754 and 939. These boards support sempron processors, and athlon 64s, but don't mention anything about the older xp's. From what I understand, the sempron is an xp derivitive, and I know my albatron mobo (KX400-8XV Pro v2.0) supports semprons w/a bios update, so does this mean that the newer boards (754 and 939) supporting semprons will also support the older xp's? Thanks for the help.

No it wont fit,you have two options;-get a 6600gt agp which is exactly the same in performance as its pcie bro,or buy new parts in which you will also need a new psu and cpu,so the best idea would be to sell your comp and start a fresh build, your current system wont make the most of the 6600gt but IMO it will still be worth the money! :)BTW hi m8!
