Will this RAM work?

My RAM has decided to die on me so im forced to purchase more. a friend tells me that because of my dual core i need to buy 2 RAM sticks and was just wondering if these ones that ive picked will work in my system.

I used to have 2 1gig sticks..below ive attached a link to them

Ya, they're both DDR2. Just make sure your motherboard can handle that amount. I assume that you're running an X64 OS to make use of all that RAM?

 

yeh im on windows xp and all this is for age of conan :-D

A single stick of RAM will work, even with a dual core CPU. I think your friend means that you need at least a pair of matching RAM sticks to utilize dual channel memory.

The Windows XP (Pro or Home) 32 bit OS's do not utilize more than 3.2 GB of RAM. As augiedoggie pointed out, you need to have a 64 bit OS to make use of all 4 GB of RAM you plan to buy. It will work, though.

 

Yeh im running 32bit and id like the max amount of RAM i can get so ill stick with the 2 2gig sticks.

And i was going to mention the dual channel thing but i forgot
