Will this weaken the signal/lower my bandwidth?

I have a question about my internet connection. I'm long-winded, so get comfy.

Basically, I have broadband provided by my cable provider. I also have digital cable, so when I ordered the service, it came with a splitter. One coax goes to the digicable box, the other to the modem. Now, it so happens that the cable comes in on the same wall that's against my bedroom, and I want to run at least basic into my bedroom. What I'm thinking of doing is getting another splitter and splitting the cable feed into my bedroom through a soon-to-be-drilled hole in the wall, so I can connect it to a TV and have the basic channels.

I'm wondering, though, if I do this, will it cause a slowdown for my bandwidth? I use a lot of bandwidth--I'm a gamer, as is my fiancee, so we're often playing online together on our respective computers, as well as running Teamspeak. I also have SunRocket VOIP. So far, running TS, the cable, and my games together have never resulted in a drop in call quality on my SR phone, but I'm curious to know if this could weaken the bandwidth overall and potentially affect either my call quality or the latency in-game, or even the picture quality on the cable signal.

    Any thoughts?

We have Comcast in our house and have about 3 TVs in different rooms hooked up and 4 computers hooked up with no problem. :)

Any time you ad a splitter to the cable system you will experience some signal loss. To be sure that you loose the leaset amount of signal be sure to use the right spliter ( dont buy a cheap $3 splitter, pay the extra money and get the one that's frequency range goes past 800MHZ, this should cost you about $20). Also you want to make sure that you use the right cable, use RG6 or higher if you can, this will ensure the least amount of signal loss.

Awesome, thanks. I'm less concerned about the SunRocket quality because I've never managed to really impact it before, but there's nothing that bugs me more than a fuzzy TV screen.

Where would I be able to get that sorta cable? Would a place like Radio Shack carry it?

Radio shack should have everything you need...if you get everything hooked up and the picture is fuzzy, then you may need to put a signal amplifier on the line for the TV only. if you put it on the line for the cable modem you may screw things up. use this as a last resort only.
