    Hello MG fam!

I have a minor annoying prob that I really do not want to spend time on, so hopefully someone else has a fantastical solution and if not, guess I'll soldier on.

A few days ago Exporer 11 (iexporer.exe) and win media player (wmplayer.exe) are giving "stopped working" error. Explorer is only on various web pages and player whenever I try to use it.
Ive used compatibility mode for explorer to minor success (and cleared history/cache) but no wins with player.
Here's what the event log on each occurrence shows:

    Exception code: 0xc0000005

    Fault offset: 0x000a70b0

    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\MFCORE.dll

Anyone else have a similar issue that they solved?

    Thanks for any leg up!

running Win 10 upgrade from 8.1

No luck. "did not find any integrity violations."

Media player still creates the error.

Thanks mdonah for your suggestion though. Anymore is much appreciated :)

You could try a repair reinstall of WMP
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2610...-media-player-in-windows-7-to-solve-problems/
You could also consider not using Internet Explorer, or even WMP as there are alternatives that work very well.
You can also do some basic system maintenance around checking that all drivers are up to date, and that the Registry is not clogged with broken or orphaned files. Running CCleaner Slim > Registry in its default settings (doing a system restore point before hand) is worth it.

Ok, sound the trumpet.....wah, wah, waaah. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Using a laptop. Didn't think about shutdown/restart. Probably been just closing up the laptop, w/out a proper shutdown for over 2 weeks, and I traveled at least 1 time zone too.

So earlier today, I actually shutdown/restarted it, and fixed. wooops.

Never underestimate the power of, "is it plugged in?" My folly for this one.

Thanks everyone. I now I go to wipe the egg of me face.
