Win 10 Pro - Sfc And Dism Not Repairing

Ever since MS updates on 10-Sep-19, my WIN 10 Pro software has never been operational.

The update never completed, it failed, and was unable to back out, corrupting my files to the extent of having to do a full install as the "repair install" was not able to recover. Updates completed after this install.

After this I was unable to type in the search bar or in Edge. Found three fixes to try... some would work at different times, but all went back to not working after a restart.

Attempted another "repair install" and that kept failing. Had to do an install (keeping files and programs) from original install media. Now my issue is not able to access ANY internet, wi-fi or Ethernet.

I have run "CHKDSK /R" and it passed.

After running SFC and DISM and rebooting:
    - DISM says a number of "oem[#].inf files not found" and "Verify and Repair Transaction completed. All files and registry keys listed in this transaction have been successfully repaired".
    - SFC fails, log file reads "Hashes for [the following] file member do not match" and "source file in store is also corrupted":

    [l:27]'MSFT_MpComputerStatus.cdxml'
    [l:19]'MSFT_MpThreat.cdxml'
    [l:26]'MSFT_MpThreatCatalog.cdxml'
    [l:28]'MSFT_MpThreatDetection.cdxml'
    [l:23]'MSFT_MpPreference.cdxml'
    [l:17]'MSFT_MpScan.cdxml'
    [l:20]'MSFT_MpWDOScan.cdxml'
    [l:22]'MSFT_MpSignature.cdxml'
    [l:13]'Defender.psd1'
    [l:27]'MSFT_MpComputerStatus.cdxml'
    [l:19]'MSFT_MpThreat.cdxml'

Even after all of this, I am still unable to access the internet and the OS is still erratic.

I have been unsuccessful finding much that relates closer to my issues that I have not already tried. What am I missing and where do I go from here.

You've ran all the tools but we need to see the logs.
Run this batch file and upload the log - it's saved on the Desktop.

    Check Disk shows no errors.

I will try to help but I'm not analyzing a 2.4 MB CBS log file.

Run this utility and upload the log file.
    Download SFC Utility - MajorGeeks

I debated about uploading the file, but was not sure where to cut it off as there were three different variants of the scan I ran.

Here are the results of the SFC Utility scan.

    Sorry for my late reply.

All the corruption points to this.
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Defender\\MSFT_MpComputerStatus.cdxml; source file in store is also corrupted
I have not seen or heard of this however, there are countless threads/posts on the net.
I do not run Windows 10 and have never used Windows Defender. Therefore I have to step back. Hopefully one of the seasoned Win10 users can point you in the right direction.

Are you still having a problem with no Internet, Ethernet & Wi-Fi?

When you install a second antivirus in Win 10 it will disable Defender. As Defender is where your problems would seem to be I would give this a try, as you have nothing to lose.

    Eldon,
Many thanks for looking and identifying
the issue, I will investigate this.

Yes, I still do not have internet access.

    Earthling,
Thank you for the suggestion. I am using AVG. After the Windows repair it was still present in my system, I am presuming everything is still in place and it turned Defender off. When I look at Defender's settings, it says AVG is my A/V.

I tried to re-install, as a repair, but without internet, it fails.

At this time, should I post all the logs and settings?

Earthling, Ran your suggested file, in Safe-Mode and as administrator, but still had a number of entries noted as "failed" and "Access denied", many related to the Winsock Catalog. Unfortunately I do not fully understand all the results.

I think your best option is to backup your personal files and clean install Windows 10.

I suspect your original install media is also corrupt.
After the new installation, before any configuration or installation of programs, check Device Manager to ensure all devices are working properly.
