Preventing the Password Prompt in a Non-Domain System
    1. In Control Panel, double-click Users and Passwords.
    2. Click to clear the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box.

NOTE: This option does not appear on a system that is a member of a domain.
    3. Click the Advanced tab.
    4. Click to clear the Require users to press Ctrl-Alt-Del before logging on check box.
Automatic logon is not supported when you are logging on to a domain. You will need to join a workgroup if you want to use the automatic logon feature.

You can also turn on the automatic logon feature in all versions of the Windows 2000 product family by editing the registry.

All of the above presupposes that you can get into Windows of course. If you can't, you'll have to reload the Operating System. (There are ways to do this without reloading, however forum rules prevent posting options such as this.) There may be others here which can provide a "legal" way without breaking the afore mentioned forum rules. I however won't go to that measure.

If I remember correctly you'll have to enter (under an admin rights account) the "normal password" once to enable this feature.

To "undo" this action, simply reverse the above steps.

This is not for bypass but you can find out the password by this.
www.loginrecovery.com It's free but it will give you the password after 2 days, but if you want it immeditely you have to pay

This will do the trick, blank out or change password, blank out is recommended
If the puter is using NTFS file system
Afterwards you will need to reinstall some MS updates

I had to do the same thing recently. If you have access to another pc, go to http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and download a boot disk. Boot from it and it'll tell you what to do. Reloading Win 2000 was NOT necessary.
