Do you intend to reformat? If so, provided your Win2K is a full version there shouldn't be any problems.

    Do you need the procedure?

ya I want to format my computer before the install, so ya I do need the process, but I must warn I got windows 2000 from some company in russia so it might not be an excate replica of the us version, meaning that I dont think that it has an make msboot32exe. file.

    Sorry about delay.

First go to http://www.bootdisk.com/ and grab yourself a Win98 bootdisk.

Boot off floppy and at A: prompt 'type' FDISK/MBR and reboot.
At A: prompt again run FDISK and create partitions.
and make the first (or only one), active.

Reboot, go into BIOS and make sure CDROM is first boot source. Place Win2K Cd in drive and reboot.

Follow procedure, I would recommend that when you come to format the first partition you choose NTFS.

I would normally use Partition Magic to handle any other partitions you may have created but I can steer you to the manual method if you prefer.

If you are unsure of Fdisk, post back, let me know what partition structure you want and I'll take you through it.:)

    Thanks...But

If I had a win 2000 Pro bootable CD Disk and I left it in the cd rom at start up with windows xp still installed then it should do something, but my disk just goes all the way to win xp without giving me any type of option. What would I do in this instant??

Can't be done that way AFAIK, (anyone else step in on this?) You have to start again with a clean drive. The procedure above will do it for you.

BTW back up anything you might need on that drive, it'll be gone.

what is your problem with running delta force games and WinXP? I have ran all of the DF games with my WinXP Pro with no problems due to the OS. Usually the problems I've had with DF games are graphics card related. If I knew the problems you are having I might be able to help and you may not have to downgrade your OS.
