Sup peeps, glad to be here and all that. Like the website.

I'm looking for a tip or two to get me out of the dead end I'm in.

I've got a 3500+ 939 and a GA-K8NF-9 (uses SLI3114) with 2 western dig 250 SATA drives hooked up looking to install mirroring on WIN 2003 Server. I use the RAID hardware utility - set the RAID up it looks good - reports healthy. Boot sequence proceeds normally. Setup seems to go normal - I hit F6 - I insert floppy - driver recognizes and loads - I get to partitioning screen. This is where I think my problem is. I've tried several combinations here from manually partitioning both drives to just hitting enter. I get cannot load OS on the reboot after files are copied.

    ???

    Can anyone help?

It seems I can't get the correct driver to show a single drive at the partitioning screen. Its troubling.

OK I figured it out finally.

On the driver/utilities CD - the driver listed there as SiL3114Raid is not the correct driver - nor is the driver available for download off of the Giga-Byte site. The correct driver is the SiL3114 driver that Windows identifies as SiL3114\ControllerLink. There are 4 different drivers on that CD that will allow Windows to recognize the SATA drives(not to mention the the inherent Win 2003 driver), but only one will correctly build the RAID mirror.

It would have saved me a HUGE hassle if Giga-Byte had the correct driver posted on their website to coincide with Model #s & MB rev #s.

This one had me going enough to come to this forum and pander for help. To boot GigaByte's support #'s aren't toll free in the US. Like I want to pay for long distance just because they don't have any documentation on the web about this new-ish MB.
