Win 7 I Need Uac Off In Order To Print Word Docs.

pdf print fine but in order for me to print word docs i have to turn UAC off. This is not ideal. Is there an issue with win 7 and HP printers? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have yet to see it with our four Windows 7 computers and several HP printers (5550, 1510 and 2655) We do have 2 other printers (722C and 1055) but they are attached to an offline XP computer.

My husband uses Office and he has never complained about not being able to print docs or the UAC popping up.

That said, what version of Office? What is your model printer so I can search for any issues?

Running word 2016 and printing to an hp office jet 3830. I read somewhere else to turn off uac to fix. With uac off i can print word docs without problem. Not sure i want to leave uac off

Thanks for the info, I'll do some searching. The "newest" version of Office we have is 2007 so it is very likely MS added some security settings in all those years. I wouldn't want to let UAC off either.

See if installing the latest drivers fixes the problem.

When you open Office, right click the exe for Word and select "Run as administrator". You should be able to print without turning UAC off.

If that works, perhaps you want to reinstall Office 2016 under an administrative user rather than a normal user.
