Win 7 problems

Win 7 was installed on my computer to replace XP Pro. If I turn the computer off, or it shuts down (i.e. from after downloading an update) I get a message "Boot from CD," when I turn it back on. Is there a way to get it to boot without the CD or manually selecting a boot mode?
Also, when Win 7 was installed, I lost my mail server, Outlook Express. I understand it is not compatible with Win 7. I am hoping to be able to retrieve that mail. A good portion of those are time sensitive and deal with canine rescue.
I found a file in office that is labeled Outlook Express. Seems to be a lot of bytes in that file. When I tried to open that I got an error msg, It states "MSVCR80.dll missing. ".
Looked that up, and it is a program that evidently puts that missing segment back in, or repairs the file.
Is that OK to download? Will the download put that where it needs to be, or just adding it to my computer allow me to open the Outlook Express file?

Even when the PC is set to boot from CD first you do not normally get that message unless there is actually a disk in the drive, so is there one?

Wish they were all that easy This Outlook Express file, are you able to open it with Notepad, or if it's a folder rather than a file, open it and see what it contains?

 

I do believe I spoke too soon.
There was an update sent overnight and the computer was automatically rebooteed on finish. Only it did not reboot, it went back to "Boot from CD."
I checked, there was no disc in the drive.

It is obviously booting so how are you getting around this problem?

 

I key f9, when that menu comes up I select 2d option down (forgot what it is)
and that loads windows
