:( Newly installed Win 7 Pro SP1 was missing "windows Update" in services.msc

Didn't find that specific issue until I had re-delivered entire desktop WIndows, Office, Antivirus and other special SW for the business. So I'm reluctant to start over as has been recommended by many other "experts".

"Thisisu" had a great dialog with a Major Geek user with a similar problem that finally fixed the issue.

My problem is simply that in the services.msc file set there is no "windows update" to enable. I have no errors in the control panel when I try the update windows icon, just doesn't do anything. If you select programs the icon for update is blank.

Hoping to cash in on the end of "Thisisu" instructions, I did the Malware, (found and killed a bunch), loaded and ran the "tweeking.com" utility, and then found the 7zip registry file and loaded all four listed in that series of posts. Services.msc now has "windows update" but the update still doesn't work.

In control panel if you click on "turn auto updates on or off" you get an error message about cant' find 2 files. This is the only error msg that is seen with this problem. I do not want to redeliver the entire load again. I have time to work a solution similar to the original one that "Thisisu" fixed.

    Thanks
