Working on Windows 8 laptop using IE, it will not get any webpages, can't ping them either. I can get my router login page, but not past that. Tried flushing DNS, Tweaking AIO repair the network fails with a 'remote execution error'? as each piece runs.. I have turned off the firewall & ran several av scans with Sardu and finding nothing. I downloaded Firefox portable (32bit), this is a 64bit system - it will not run at all - well the portable splash screen comes up, then nothing..any ideas?
Hate to give up but I started a restore point as I left the house today. Still would like to know the root cause.

Are you trying to use a wireless connection to your modem or what? Have you tried connecting to the Internet by connecting your laptop to the modem or router via an Ethernet cable?

Sounds like a problem on the WAN side of the router. Are all the status lights OK?

Every other computer can get passed the router. It is wired - it can get to the router (gateway) web interface. All the IP config is right - gateway, dns... I am sure it is the laptop, not the network.
