Win 98 16 bit color only.

Hi all.
I am working on a friends computer.
All he has is 16 bit color with large icons.
He uninstalled norton av.
While doing so he deleted msvcp60.dll.
When you boot up there was an error message "unable to find msvcp60.dll."
I copied it from another folder and it is back where it belongs.
Rebooted and the eror mssg went away.
But he still only has 16 bit color.
I went to the Nec site and updated the drivers and still have the same problem.
What am I doing wrong ??Thanx in advance for any help.
It has me stumped.

nec fe 700
gateway essential ( I dont know the speed.)
I also cant find what video card is installed.

When he uninstalled that driver it messed with EVERYTHING.
I did as you suggested and IT WORKS !!!
