Win 98 Word Password problem

Hi guys,

I have kept a work related note log yearly since '97 using Word. I haven't tried to access my '97 file in years and can't remember the password.

Whether it matters or not, I probably created it in Win 95 and may have accessed it with Win 98 and doubt I ever accesses it with Win 2000. I now run XP Pro.

Anyone have a program that might get me around this access password?

Try this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4387.html and look in the 'Secrets' section... I've used it to recover IE passwords; I'm not sure if it works with Word or not, but you can give it a shot anyway.....

Thanks for all the replies. So far I've hit dead ends. The password crackers software only goes back to '97 or later Word. I figure that these were created in Win95. My employeer stays several years behind the latest OS system releases for security purposes.

So I'm still searching....
