Having a problem reading a CD (that was written on my system, Win XP) on a friends Windows 98 system.

I know that NTFS and FAT32 are not compatible, but I didn't think that extended to files written to a CD.
However, I can read this CD fine and his system can't.

His CD drive can, however, read other CD's...

Are CD's burned on an XP system not readable by a drive on a 98 system?

    thx in advance

No the formats should be compatible as CD writing formats are not the same as HD formats as in FAT, FAT32, NTFS, however it depends on how you wrote the cd,

is it a CDRW and written in UDF or Packet Writing ( Nero InCD or Roxio Drag to Disk )? WinXP supports UDF format but Win98 needs a UDF reader http://www.roxio.com/en/support/udfwin/udfwinvhist.html

    Did you finalize the CD?

If the Win98 PC is older hardware then the CD drive may not be able to read packet or multisession written CDs.
