Win Me install/product verification

I bought a Windows me upgrade CD a few years back for my upgrade from 98. I have xp on most of my pc's, however my son has an older 2 GIG computer. I want to reformat, and put a clean copy of ME on it, (I know it's a crappy OS) but that is my only choice. I don't have anything else other than XP.
MY problem is, I don't have another CD other than XP to verify pervious OS for me upgrade. Is there anyway I can do this? Is there a file out there I can use to verify?

I know of a way, but since I'm a mere apprentice to this forum, I'm not sure if my way borders on legality issues. So, lets wait till someone with a few more posts says something.

 

Can you PM me? Or send me an email? I would at least like to know if it is feasable for me to do.
in mind, I no longer have an older version of windows to "verify". I never thought I would need them again.

There are many ways to take care of such a problem, but just about every one of them lies in a grey area of whats allowed here.

theefool was correct in not posting his solution. You will have to gain assistance outside of MG's forums, as we cannot assist with such a request.

I see, I guess I will just forget it, and trash the pc, I am not up to buying another copy of windows me, if I had known, I would have bought the full version in the 1st place. I didn't know it was only for upgrade until now.

You can pick up Windows 98 copies for next to nothing from Buy Sell & Trade here, ebay, or even computer fairs etc.

 

I thought about that, however, I was afraid of getting something that would not work. I may give it a try, thanks.
