Win XP Default Settings on Domain

Another tricky network problem...

We have a machine in our office that everyone logs onto to scan stuff and to check their exchange server email on Outlook 2003. Now we'd like to change the default appearance of the Windows desktop, the default appearance of the start menu, and some of the default control panel settings, which all seem to revert to the OOBE defaults (which would be the lack of the My Comp, My Doc, IE, NetNeigh icons).

I would like to edit some registry entries or create some sort of default script to make the changes to it so that whenever a user logs onto their domain on that machine, it automatically makes those changes to their newly created user account. I have found a few registry entries that change those settings for individual users, but not system-wide default changes.

What you could do is write a batch file to apply those registry tweaks when a user logs on, using the logon script on the domain server. Since the logon script executes as the user logs on, and before the user interface loads, the tweaks should take effect on the logon. Apply the tweaks to the .DEFAULT registry key, and that will apply it to all newly created user accounts.

I'm sorry, but that's not very specific. What is this key you mentioned?
And what registry folder is it under? What's the key name? Value?
