    Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion DV1000. Last week I began getting a BSOD on it. I don't recall the exact error but I researched it and all forums said to do a repair install. I tried that but I got an error with that too. So i decided to do a fresh install.

With the fresh install of Windows XP I finally got to my desktop again. The next step was finding the drivers. I went to the HP site, found the drivers for the dv1000 but I can't get my ethernet card recognized. I tried every ethernet driver on the dv1000 driver site but none of them get my wireless card or wired card working.

I tried to find out what model my network cards are but that ended up impossible as well. I used everest to try to get all my hardware info but the network cards came up as

    Ethernet Controller [NoDB] PCI
    Network Controller [NoDB] PCI

I am at a loss. Any ideas? Any more info you need?

    Thank you

    Hi

Whats the full model code of your DV1000 as their are 75 varients? (eg. DV1010us) or if you have the correct drivers page at HP then install the Chipset driver (most likely named ~ Intel Chipset Installation Utility) then reboot and then try the Network/Lan driver again, as in most cases the Chipset is needed first to allow Windows to recognise the other devices on the motherboard.

What Service Pack for XP at you at?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2

As far as model code goes on the actual machine it just says HP Pavilion dv 1000. Where would I find the specific model? I have a serial and Product number that I found on the bottom of the machine

    product #: et738ua#aba
    serial #: cnf6141l5s

    thanks
