Hi all, i've been having some problems with my master HDD so i've now set my slave drive as the master and i'me trying to install XP Pro on it from the boot disc but i'm having no luck.

The disc is actually not an official Windows disc but i've used it in the past to upgrade from an older OS.

Anyone got any tips or know why it isn't booting? The bios runs but then the screen just goes blank and i've tried booting from CD drive in the boot and setup menus but still get a blank screen.

    Thanks

  2. Have you checked that BIOS to make sure that the boot order is correctly set up? So that boot off CD is the first in the boot order?

Yeah, but nowt happens. I can hear the cd drive whiring away but then it just stops and tries to boot from HD.

Must be a dodgy cd do you think?
