    1. Our new Dell comes with these games. I set myself as Admin. With 2 teens, want to be in touch with downloading etc. Is there a way to permit them to play these games on their login without making them admins? They get access denied. We have playable on my login only.
    2. Also, these games that come with Dell require the Wild Tangent driver. Months ago I recall this being something I removed from my old computer as it was related to malware. I went ahead and let the kids move forward as I had a little confidence as it is required by games that came with our Dell, but I have doubts. Any light that can be shed appreciated.

    Don't know about the first question.
    I googled on Wild Tangent and came up with this link -

    http://www.pchell.com/support/wildtangent.shtml

    Seems to be a good explanation and has removal instructions if you decide to.
    Hope that helps.:)

    I have an older dell and I have had played Wild Tangent and then removed it because it was scanned as malware too. But to your real question. Log in as admin go to My Computer choose folder view locate the games and drag and drop them the games to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

    Spybot S&D lists WildTangent as malware. Is it something which can be gotten back after it's been uninstalled, if it is needed later?
    thanks!

    There's MALWARE, and then there's malware. The PCHELL page is accurate, but look again at what is collected by WildTangent:
    * Operating System Version
    * CPU Type and Speed
    * Memory Amount
    * Video Card type and Driver Version
    * Sound Card type and Driver Version
    * DirectX Version
    * Location that the Web Driver was installed from

    You broadcast info of this nature routinely to any site you visit, and if you are playing online games and using aol, then you likely have MUCH bigger "problems" to worry about. Indeed, this is appropriate info to collect for the use that it was designed for:"delivering CD-ROM quality entertainment over the Web". That is a direct quote from the bio of ALEX ST. JOHN, a "founding creator of Microsoft's DIRECTX technology (and) president and CEO of Wild Tangent Inc." He has been a monthly contributor of columns to CPU magazine, one of the industry standards in publishing, for several years. You would do well to read him in all the past issues that you can lay your hands on. Especially if you are, shall we politely say, a "critic" of MS.
    Note also that if WildTangent is removed, the online games that you enjoy may no longer be playable. Malware? technically. MALWARE? hardly, in my opinion. Depends on the level of security/privacy that you desire & require...

    ThePrisoner makes some excellent points. WildTangent is run by the founder of DirectX. I have it on my machine. Many companies collect this basic info to improve their games both in code and content. This is common practice and harmless. Be very leary of websites and programs who feel the need to scare you for usually for their own benefit. Looking for a privacy policy is helpful as well. WildTangent will be found on AOL games, Pogo.com and other places.

    I notice your using multiple users. Dont like that. Good concept, lousy implementation. One of you gets a virus or malware and forget about the difficulties of removing it and getting it out of system restore, but wait until it spreads from user to user as you remove it. Not a fan of user accounts.

    This wont work as there still aren't admins. Well at least thats what i gather, as it sounds like you can already see the short cuts, just are getting access denied/something like that, when you try to run them. Good Luck

    I noticed question wasn't answered so I'll ask again. I removed Wild Tangent that came with my Dell because of "malware" questions. I really liked some of the games and now that Prisoner explained, I'd like them back. Is there a way to reinstall? Thanks.
