win xp pro help

Okay i just recently reinstalled this becaue my machine took a dump on me and did some upgrades in the process. This is the 2nd time it has happened where it starts to go into windows and loads up the black screen with the logo then it will stop loading and just freeze while loading. I tried safe mode use ;ast good configuration and a few other options but nothing seems to work. I let my computer sit for a few hours then it boots up fine. Any ideas?

 

Need some more info, list your hardware. Are you overclocking? Have you checked to see if you have bad ram?

 

Okay i have a

Amd 2600 cpu not overclocked
1! gig of memory ddr 2700
Asus 7nx deluxe mb
Dvd Burner liteon
Dvd drive liteon
Ati 9500 video card not overclocked
3 hds a 250, 200 and 80

 

Out of curiosity, is that one stick of memory, or is that two? If two, try taking one out and seeing if you have any issues.
