Win XP Pro- Search not working

When I go to START>SEARCH, nothing happens.

Try this: go to 'Start/console(MS-Dos)' there you type 'regedit'.
Now search for: 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetSate'. The right side of the Editorwindow should look like this:
(Standard) REG_SZ
FullPath REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
FullPathAddress REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
Settings REG_BINARY 0c 00 02 00 1b 01 e5 77 60 00 00 00

If not just click on the names and change settings.

If you do not feel good in fingering arround in WinReg so do not!

I got them all changed but the top one, (Default) REG_SZ (value not set). How do I change default to standard? theres no "rename" for this one like the rest
