win xp pro start up

Help me guys, dam pc is talking more than 6 minutes to start up with the screen staying at the blue bar stage for ages. have used AVG 7 no virus, adware se with no problems found, spybot is the same. It is just taking so long and I cant find any thing obvious thats wrong. Does any one have any ideas, also internet explorer fails every now and then, cannot tell if connected?

Pressing F8 on my laptop (W98SE) gives me various options to bootup. I choose bootlog.txt and it creates a file in the root directory of C:\

Boot Log Analyzer http://www.woundedmoon.org/win32/bootloganalyzer123.html

BLA will then access your copy of bootlog.txt, and you can see a sequential list of all boot up processes, and the time it takes for every process. You can sort the file to show the process that takes the most amount of time down to the ones that take the least time. This will point out the time hoggers and you can then zero in on the problem processes. Couldn't find in on MG. Bazza

Check out the google link in earlier post. You should find an Analyzer for XP that will tell you what is causing XP to slow boot. Bazza
