My Win xp machine suddenly stopped displaying for some reason.
Right clicking on start and choosing 'Search won't work and neither will clicking on 'Start' and 'Search'

My NAV anti-virus is up-to-date as well as my Norton firewall

    Any ideas...?

"right-click the Start Menu, choose Properties. Under the 'Start Menu' tab, ensure that 'Start Menu' is selected and choose Customize. Under the Advanced Tab, scroll down to where it says 'Search' and ensure there is a checkmark beside it."

If that doesn't work ..start / run / type "sfc /scannow" without qoutes and have your xp disk handy.

    Thanks Tim...!

I'll try when I get home and hope it works.

    Happy Holidays...!
