win xp user account help

A few weeks ago my computer wouldn't start up, and while I was trying to find ways to fix it, I needed some files from the 'My Documents' folder in my account. So I took out the hard drive and put it on my other computer and changed some of the security ownership of the folder by going into 'properties' in the document and settings folder, then went to Advanced under the security tab.

After I did a CMOS reset on my system, I put my hard drive back in and my system boots up.

Before my computer broke down, my account name was John and my computer name was PC-01. After my system boots up, I log into my account, John, but noticed that I wasn't really under my account. I went inside the Document and Settings folder and noticed that I was actually under this account named 'John.PC-01'. There was also another folder named 'John' which I think it's my previous account which it's the one I want to log into.

So my question is, how do I log back into my old account? The windows login screen only shows two users, one is John and the other is Guest.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

 

I have the exact issue.
I had to do a reinstall of win xp and had backed up files with Ghost.
My files and my daughters files are listed in explore.
How do I make a logon account for these?
